Why do I keep getting emails called "Your Quarantined Spam and Virus Report"?
Every 3 days or so, our email system sends out these emails to you. They are emails that our system detected as spam and instead of sending you a ton of spam, we put it in a special quarantine folder. When you receive these emails, you can see a list of what was prevented from being sent to you. If you see an email that you know is NOT spam (called false-positive), you click on the "release" link. That will release that particular email to you, which will be available the next time you check your email.

How do I check my email via a web browser?
Our webmail interface supports the following browsers:
For the PC: Internet Explorer version 5.5 and above, Netscape 7.1 and above and Firefox 1.0 and above. For the Mac: Netscape 7.1 and above and Firefox 1.0 and above. To check your email look for the Webmail login on the left side of the page. Enter your username as your username@your domain, e.g., test@lawebhosting.com, and enter your email password.
Then click "LOG IN NOW".

Please note: There is a 20 megabyte limit on how many email messages you can store on the web. The webmail is meant as a place to temporarily store your messages if you are on the road, etc. Beyond the 20 megabyte limit, no one will be able to email you, so make sure to clean up your inbox as you go along. After you hit 17 megabytes, you'll receive an email stating you will soon be over your quota limit, to please delete any unneeded email messages from the server. Using an email program such as thunderbird, outlook, eudora, etc. will pull your messages off of the server, so quota issues don't usually come up.

How do I set up my Email program to receive my email?
In your email program, where it asks for Incoming Mail (POP3) Server and Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server, set both to mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name of course!)
In the username area, type in your FULL email address, for example
bob@widgets.com. Your password is the one you requested when you signed up.

Nameserver Changes:
Once you sign up, you'll need to immediately log in to the website where you registered your domain, to change the Nameserver info, sometimes called EDIT DNS. This will ensure that your website points to our server, where your web site is hosted. The process usually takes 24 to 48 hours to be updated, so there can be a 1 or 2 day delay from when you make the nameserver changes. Here is the info you'll need to enter into the nameserver fields:

Namserver info:
NS17.SECUREDPRIVATENETWORK.NET (Primary Nameserver)
NS18.SECUREDPRIVATENETWORK.NET (Secondary Nameserver)

What is the Internet & what do I need to get on it?
The Internet is a world-wide collection of computers that are all linked together. To access the Internet, you need an ISP (Internet Service Provider). You call them up, they set you up a personal Dial-Up account, you choose an email name to use and they give you a phone number to dial into using your modem inside your computer. They usually charge you $20.00 or so a month for this service. So now you're on the internet can surf around and see different websites, etc.

In order to have a business web site on the internet, you need an Internet Servive Provider (ISP), to connect to the internet and for a higher price , that ISP will rent you space on their computer, which is part of the world-wide collection of computers that are all linked together (more expensive) OR you can use a virtual server. (less expensive) By putting your website on a server , people from all over the planet can access your web site because it's now part of the world-wide collection of linked computers. Consider your ISP an on-ramp to the internet. Consider your server the home for your web site. Dial-up and hosting are two entirely separate issues.
